Wendy Galvin

L.L.B. , M.B.A

I started Galvin Law in 1988 after spending several years working for other firms in Auckland, gaining practical experience in a wide range of legal disciplines. I was attracted to family law because it involves interaction with people on a personal level and provides the opportunity to help them through what can be a very difficult time in their lives.

Over the years I have seen many people whose world has fallen apart, and watched them piece it back together again, often stronger and happier than before. If I have assisted to make that journey a little easier then I have succeeded in my role as a family lawyer.

I am a great believer in the importance of crossing cultural and racial divides and have gained invaluable experience as a member of the International Bar Association – a legal association with over three thousand members worldwide. I am a former Senior Vice Chair of its Family Law Committee and have been a guest speaker at international family law conferences, most recently in South Africa. The exchange of ideas and deeper understanding of other cultures resulting from this international network has been invaluable to me in many aspects of my daily working life.
